What to Expect
Learn to craft your own silver ring from scratch at North Bar Social in Otley, where you'll master everything from sawing and filing to annealing and hammering in a welcoming, step-by-step workshop. Whether you're a complete beginner or you've worked with metal before, this class is designed so everyone moves through together at a pace that works.
You'll develop skills over 2.5 to 3 hours: shaping your silver to fit perfectly, heating it to soften the metal, texturing it with a beautiful hammered finish, and learning the science behind how metal responds to heat and pressure. I will be right there alongside you, showing you exactly how to hold and handle each tool so you always know what you're doing.
Halfway through, while your ring sits safely in the pickle bath, you'll get a break where you can grab a drink from the venue and chat with other makers.
By the end of the class, you'll have made something genuinely special. A handmade silver ring that's entirely yours, crafted with techniques you'll be able to use again and again.
