The ‘Ashen’ Necklace features a striking wood replacement opal set in solid sterling silver, accented by three reclaimed diamonds sourced from preloved jewellery. Wood replacement opals take millions of year to form. The journey starts will a fallen tree. Over time, the tree gets buried under sediment and the silica seeps into the cracks, creating that wonderful colour play.
Each diamond remains in excellent condition, as diamonds are incredibly difficult to mark. Choosing reclaimed stones makes this piece an especially ethical option, helping to reduce demand for newly mined diamonds whose origins are often uncertain.
The pendant hangs from a sterling silver paperclip chain, giving the design a clean, contemporary feel that complements the opal’s natural play of colour.

Care
To keep your jewellery looking its best, store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight and chemicals. Avoid applying perfume, hairspray, or other sprays near your jewellery, as these can cause metal to tarnish and dull the stone’s natural beauty.
Both sterling silver and gold can develop a natural patina over time. To restore their shine, gently polish with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, especially on pieces with opals.
The opals I use — primarily Australian opals — are more durable than other types, but they still require gentle care. Do not expose them to prolonged moisture or immerse them in hot water, as extreme temperature changes can damage the stone. Always remove your jewellery before bathing, swimming, or cleaning.
With a little mindfulness, your piece will remain beautiful for years to come.
Handmade
Each piece is individually handcrafted in my home workshop using traditional techniques and careful attention to detail. From the shaping of metal to the setting of each stone, no two pieces are ever exactly the same — each one is made to celebrate the unique character of the materials and carry a sense of individuality.
I work with responsibly sourced metals and natural opals, allowing their organic textures, colours, and forms to guide the design. Every element, from molten textures to smooth bezels, is crafted with intention and finished by hand to ensure lasting quality.
These pieces are not mass-produced — they are small-batch, thoughtfully made, and built to be worn, loved, and passed on.
